Will analytics play a stronger role in Learning?
There is so much sophistication in web analytics around ecommerce. Google’s cashcow is based on providing deep understanding how the viewer interacts with the screen. Can this type of sophistication play a role in elearning? Could we focus on a single course long enough to make small incremental changes that are proven to increase engagement? Most elearning projects that I have been invovled with couldn’t get past the initial design effort, let alone start to look at the impact of small incremental changes to text and graphics. There my be stuff out there on this topic, I just haven’t looked. I talked about this in a article that I was interviewed for about 2 and half years ago. Will web analytics improve online learning?
